【O-10】 Industrial creations by ecosystem control - new avenues opened by omics technologies -

The sciences on microbial ecosystem are important in various areas such as gut microbiology supporting health maintenance, rhizosphere science for crop production, bioprocess development for chemical industry, and environmental treatment. These are indispensable for constructing sustainable and sound material-cycle societies. New technology, omics technology, has been developed for controlling microbial ecosystem. In this seminar, as starting points of functional integration of microbial functions such as chemical products, enzymes, and metabolisms, the examples of microbial ecosystem control in health and chemical industries, environmental control and agriculture will be discussed.
