Tokyo Symphony Orchestra String Quartet

The Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1946, performs at a wide variety of events including regular concerts at the Tokyo's Suntory Hall and operas and ballets at the New National Theatre, Tokyo. Among their many achievements, a recent 70th anniversity tour of Europe (together with the Wiener Musikverein) received wide acclaim.
Four members of the Orchestra will be performing at this year's reception in their role as the highly-regarded string quartet.

[Sapatos] is an acoustic bossa nova unit.

Sanshiro, the saxophone player and Jun Kimura, the guitar player, are the match mate to create smooth bossa nova style of music.

[Sapatos] means shoes in Portuguese. They formed the duo in 2003, and given a license from Mr. Ishihara Tokyo Metropolitan Governor to perform in the streets as a Heaven Artist.

Sapatos plays the most famous melodies from all genres and rearrange them in Bossa Nova style.


Studied composition and arranging at Berklee Collage of Music. Started his career from playing in the streets of Manhattan, New York City in 1984. His performance in Shibuya in 1988 gathered hundreds of audience and became a social phenomenon. Debut from Sony Music and released many albums. Appeared in concert with Sean Lennon as a member of special band for Yoko Ono's concert GOW at Tokyo Dome. Won a grand prize in 31st Galaxy radio program of the year in Japan.

Sanshiro appears in countless live shows in many cities and also collaborates with different music productions. He would never stops creating the music, with spirits he earned from street.

Jun Kimura

Started plying the Guitar from a strong influence from Antonio Carlos Jobim.
Specialized in Brazilian music and created his own style in playing the Bossa Nova Guitar. Gave many recordings for CM music and won a Double prize from CM Broadcasting committee.
He is also famous for switching his Career from an office worker to a musician.
He was featured in TV shows and Magazine and News papers.
Now he is the busiest musician in the music scene. Day and night, everyday, he is performing at various venues
