Development of marker of rBC2LCN for human Pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs)

rBC2LCN is a recombinant protein of N-terminal domain of BC2L-C and has been reported as a marker of undifferentiated human Pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs). rBC2LCN specifically recognizes a sugar chain which exists on the surface of hPSCs. StemSure® hPSC Remover is a recombinant lectin-toxin fusion protein composed of rBC2LCN fused with a truncated protein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa exotoxin A (termed rBC2LCN-PE38). StemSure® hPSC Remover induces cell death by inhibiting protein synthesis when internalized into hPSCs. Thus, StemSure® hPSC Remover is useful to remove undesired residual hPSCs from differentiated cell population. These are the results of collaborative research with AIST under the support of AMED.
